In the beginning of 2008, the EuroEyes clinical group took over the majority of the Lasikzentrum Universitätsallee Bremen GmbH. With more than 1,500 surgical procedures of the retina and the vitreous body per year, the Augenklinik Universitätsallee is among Europe's leading eye surgery establishments. For the time being, more than 30,000 eye surgeries have been performed. The highly modern equipped eye clinic not only carry out outpatient cataract surgeries, but also the very complicated surgeries on the retina and the vitreous body.


Due to the merger with the EuroEyes clinical group, the experience and expertise is combined from two of the finest eye surgeons. Aside from the medical director and CEO of the EuroEyes clinical group, Dr. Jørn Jørgensen, an internationally acclaimed LASIK specialist also performs surgeries in Bremen.

 

The newest technologies, such as the Wellenfront-LASIK (Wavefront and aberrometry guided laser treatment) is at our disposal, allowing us to not only correct refractive errors but also to improve the quality of our patients' vision.

 

As a further step in the direction towards safety, surgical quality, and "Quality of Vision", the newest 60kHz Femtosecond laser from the firm Intralase is at the Bremen surgeons' disposal. EuroEyes was the first German clinic to routinely use the Femtosecond laser for their refractive surgeries. The Femtosecond laser is currently the most precise system for correction of refractive errors.

 
EuroEyes Bremen offers the full range of refractive surgery. Even patients with more severe refractive errors (shortsightedness of more than -10 dioptres, longsightedness of more than +5 dioptres) can be treated. Since the early 90s, the EuroEyes surgeons have carried out more than 60,000 intraocular surgeries, including cataract surgeries, e.g. through the implant of multifocal lenses, ICL lenses, and ICL rings.


EuroEyes Bremen is, as well as the other EuroEyes eye laser centres, ISO 9001 certified. All processes and measures, from hygiene during the surgical processes, monitoring of patients, to preand post-operative patient care, is carefully analysed and described. The results of the surgeries are analysed and evaluated within the EuroEyes Clinics.
Due to the fact that all EuroEyes clinics are interconnected, all post-operative results can be compared. This ensures a constant optimisation of results and guarantees highest standard quality assurance.
