Mr. Ulrich Janßen, you participated in the 160km EuroEyes Cyclassics 2019. How satisfied are you with your result?

I am not satisfied because I could not finish the tour this year due to my fall. Luckily, I only got away with minor abrasions, but of course I was very disappointed not to be able to finish the track until the end after I prepared so long for the 160km.

Will you participate next year despite the fall?

I’m definitely going to take part again next year, because the atmosphere at the EuroEyes Cyclassics is really great and motivating.

Does your glasses affect you while cycling?

When I ride a racing bike, I have bicycle glasses with lenses of the same eyesight as the predecessor of my current glasses in them. Although I can still see well in the distance, I cannot read the speedometer very well. It is extremely annoying that I always have to adjust the sunglasses and the bicycle glasses when I change my glasses. Usually I don’t do that either.

So in the course of that you did the eye check at EuroEyes?

Yes, because the idea of no longer needing glasses is very interesting for me. That’s why I was also at the booth of EuroEyes and had already informed myself before the race. And then I threw in the participation card for the STEVENS bike raffle.

What was the moment when you heard about the win?

The first seconds I felt incredulous amazement. Then doubt whether it could be a spam email. Then I called the given phone number and could hardly believe my luck. That was really great!
