FOOTBALL LEGEND BECOMES EUROEYES AMBASSADOR
We are very happy that the Danish football legend, Michael Laudrup, is now reporting on his own eye treatment as EuroEyes ambassador and is encouraging people with presbyopia.
He is one of the greatest football players in the history of European football: Michael Laudrup. In addition to his positions at Lazio Rome and Juventus Turin, the Dane was also active for FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. He has been a member of the Danish Sports Hall of Fame since 2007. Franz Beckenbauer once put him in line with Péle, Cruyff and Maradona. Now he will be the EuroEyes ambassador.
After a few years in which Michael Laudrup was annoyed about his presbyopia , he decided to have an eye treatment. Eliminating presbyopia made the Danish football icon so happy that he has now become an ambassador for EuroEyes. Now he would like to draw the attention of other Danes to the fact that this treatment is possible. He hadn’t known anything about it beforehand. Such treatment could be relevant for two million Danes.
Copenhagen, September 30th 2020:
“You can’t run away from old age, but when I found out there was a way to get rid of reading glasses, I immediately went to get an eye treatment.
It was only one morning for my wife and me, and by afternoon I could watch TV and read. I would always recommend people who are suitable for treatment to also get such a procedure, as this really made a big difference for me, ”says Michael Laudrup.
Michael Laudrup and his wife are one of the many Danes who still feel very young for their age, so they decided to have an eye treatment. During treatment, the eye’s natural lens is replaced with an artificial lens called a multifocal or trifocal lens.
He showed the red card to the reading glasses
Like so many others, Michael Laudrup had tried to get used to read with reading glasses, but without much success.
“I don’t know exactly how long I wore reading glasses before having this treatment, but it took a few years. And I just always forgot them when we went to a restaurant, for example, because I was never used to glasses. I had to use the light on my cell phone to read the menu card instead. It irritated me enormously, so both my wife and I decided to receive treatment, ”says Michael Laudrup.
After his treatment, EuroEyes contacted Michael Laudrup again. The company has been working on the correction of ametropia through lens replacement and laser surgery for 25 years. Where the latter form of treatment is known, few people know that lens replacement is the solution for old age if you don’t want to wear reading glasses, glasses with progressive lenses or contact lenses. For several years in a row, EuroEyes has been recognized for having implanted the most Zeiss trifocal lenses worldwide. The procedure is the same as for cataract, which have been treated for 70 years, and is therefore a well-known form of treatment.
A football legend becomes a EuroEyes ambassador
EuroEyes is happy to have one of Denmark’s greatest football players as an ambassador and to tell you more about the possibilities for eye treatments.
“We really want to point out that there is an alternative to glasses, reading glasses and contact lenses for all age groups. About four out of five Danes who wear glasses or contact lenses are actually eligible for the treatment. Yet far too few know that the possibility exists at all. We are therefore delighted that Michael Laudrup will pass this message on ”, says Jannik Boberg-Ans, medical director of EuroEyes in Denmark.
EuroEyes, the largest independent clinic group for eye surgery in Germany, has been offering the entire spectrum of refractive surgery for the correction of ametropia for more than 25 years. Dr. Jørn S. Jørgensen, founder, owner and medical director of EuroEyes, is one of the most sought-after German eye specialists. By using the most modern eye laser and lens procedures, EuroEyes enables patients to start a life free of glasses and contact lenses. EuroEyes is a leader in the use of the innovative and gentle ReLEx smile method for laser eye surgery and is world champion in the implantation of multifocal lenses to correct presbyopia.

• The treatment takes place on an outpatient basis, whereby the patient is given something soothing and his eye is anesthetized.
