DR. FRAUKE C. SCHILLING
As specialist in ophthalmology, Dr. Frauke C. Schilling is ready with advice and practical support for many curious and prospective patients in our laser eye clinics Rhein-Ruhr (Düsseldorf, Dortmund, Oberhausen).

Your recommended treatment:
Femto-lasik
Femto-LASIK is one of the most reliable methods for correcting visual defects (enter the appropriate type of ametropia depending on the test result). To correct the refractive error using the Femto-LASIK procedure, a small round lid is removed on the cornea. During the Femto-LASIK procedure, preparation of a corneal flap, also known as flap, is performed using a femtosecond laser. The whole procedure is carried out without the use of mechanical cutting tools.
The laser performs individual correction of ametropia and simulates the shape of the cornea. Then the flap is fixed in its former place. It adheres to the surface of the eye due to its adherence and protects the eye like an internal patch.
(For people aged 45-64: Femto-LASIK treatment is medically feasible, but we recommend using trifocal / multifocal lenses to prevent cataracts.)
The result of this test is not a binding recommendation. During a personal detailed consultation and after a thorough preliminary examination, your doctor will determine the most suitable procedure for you.
Your recommended treatment:
ICL Intraocular Contact Lens
For over 20 years, implantable contact lenses made from Collamer® (abbreviated ICL) have been the best solution for patients with severe ametropia or a corneal disorder.
Unlike contact lenses, ICL is always in the eye. These lenses are inserted between the iris and the lens of the eye. The ICL, combined with the natural lens, ensures that the light is correctly focused on the retina and that the patient can see again clearly without glasses.
You are in good hands with us: EuroEyes has implanted the largest number of ICL contact lenses throughout Europe.

Your recommended treatment:
ReLEx smile or Femto-LASIK
ReLEx smile technology is a gentle form of laser vision correction that can correct myopia. Therefore, the curvature of the cornea is easily treatable with this method.
During the ReLEx smile procedure, the cornea opens with a small incision 2 mm in size. Through this “keyhole”, a 3D disc (lenticle) is extracted, which was previously prepared using a femtosecond laser.
This lenticle exactly matches the weight and size of the corrected ametropia. The whole procedure takes about 32 seconds per eye.
(For people aged 45-64: Femto-LASIK treatment is medically feasible, but we recommend using trifocal / multifocal lenses to prevent cataracts.)

Your recommended treatment:
Trifocal / Multifocal Lenses
Using trifocal / multifocal intraocular lenses, also known as artificial lenses, is a safe and accurate method for correcting presbyopia (enter the appropriate type of ametropia depending on the test result). The natural, more non-functioning lens of the eye is replaced by an artificial lens (multifocal lens).
The advanced artificial lens has several focal points, which allows you to see at different distances without glasses. These very well-tolerated lenses may remain in the eye throughout a person’s life and may not be noticeable.
The refractive lens replacement procedure (Lensectomy) is a tested and proven method. This method has been used to treat cataracts for decades and is the most commonly performed type of surgery in the world. EuroEyes Clinics performed the largest number of multifocal lens implants worldwide.
